Kanye West; Producer, Musician, Business guru and above all a Billionaire. How did he achieve all this greatness? In his own words “I’m a Creative Genius“.

His yet to be released album titled Donda is still in production but Mr. West has found it best to hold Live Sessions for his fans to get a feel of the album before it is officially released.

Many people don’t seem to grasp the concept of what he’s doing 🥴 but luckily I am here to explain it.

Let’s get this out of the way, this move he’s making is a HUGE marketing strategy brands and creators need to jump on real quick!🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

These sessions serve as a way for him to make extra money 💰(the audience pays to get access to the live sessions) and also as a way to get feedback (think of this as a survey) which would help him make the album better before he decides to release it - therefore the album wouldn’t be a failure.

A lot of money is being saved here you know? I don’t know if you know how surveys work but it’s usually a company or person paying people to test out a product or answer some questions and probably get paid.

But for Kanye, people (his fans) pay HIM to give HIM their feedback. Stop reading and think about it, this is GENUIS!!!!

This also serves as word-of-mouth advertising because people who gain access to these live sessions go on out on social media talking about how good a particular song sounded or how great the album generally is.

People who are yet to hear album begin to anticipate it even more. And this saves Kanye money he’d have spent on Advertisements to build HYPE.

I build digital tech products myself (mobile apps) and one strategy I use is Rapid Prototyping; where I design the visual look and feel of a product, hand it over to a select group of people and have them test it out for free and in turn I listen to their feedback and improve on the design.

When the select group is finally satisfied, it is then I finally develop (code) the product.

This at least saves my product from failing miserably at launch and having to re-engineer the entire product from scratch since I have already gained positive feedback from a select group ( who represent potential users ).

This would save brands (consumer product / digital product) a lot of money as they won’t have to scrap production of the product or pay a developer additional money to create a new product.

For Creators, this would help you predict how well your content would perform when it’s finally released to your profiles.

It would also help you connect more with your audience, save money on ads and above all make your audience feel “special” as they’d believe they were a part of the creative process.
